A minute’s silence to mourn the passing of the Queen has been held across the UK.
The national moment of reflection took place at 8pm on Sunday evening.
Members of the public were able to mark the silence at home, with friends or family.
A number of locally arranged community events and vigils were held across the UK.
At the Kelpies in Falkirk, 96 lanterns – one for each of the Queen’s life – was lowered into a pool of reflection at the foot of the Queen Elizabeth II canal from 7.30pm.
The Queen’s funeral is being held on Monday, September 19.
Her coffin will lie in state at Westminster Hall until the day of the funeral.
It will then be taken from there to Westminster Abbey, with the service starting at 11am.
Around 2,000 guests are expected to attend the service, including Prime Minister Liz Truss and US President Joe Biden.
Big screens will be set up in Edinburgh’s Holyrood Park for mourners to watch the event.
