The official list of Covid symptoms has been expanded to include nine new signs of the illness, including fatigue and headaches.
The three traditional signs of coronavirus – fever, a new and persistent cough and a loss or change in taste or smell – have been updated by the NHS.
It is hoped that by announcing the additional nine new symptoms, which are similar to those found in colds and flu, the spread of infection will decrease.
It comes as Scoland experienced record numbers of Covid cases, with the Office for National Statistics reporting one in 11 people north of the border had Covid in the week ending March 20.
The NHS website says shortness of breath, feeling tired or exhausted and suffering from an achy body could all be signs of Covid-19.
The list also includes headaches, a sore throat, a blocked or runny nose, loss of appetite, diarrhoea and feeling or being sick.
