Nicola Sturgeon has said that Covid-19 has “knocked me for six” after testing positive for the virus last week.

The First Minister confirmed on Friday evening that she had received a positive test result.

In line with government guidance, the SNP leader said that she would be working from home.

In a Tweet on Monday, Sturgeon warned that the virus can be “nasty” as she urged people to get vaccinated.

“The virus has really knocked me for six the past couple of days.

“So while I hope to be back fighting fit v soon, I’m having to stay at home for now,” she said.

“Once again – this time from personal experience – please do get all doses of vaccine if you haven’t already.

“Covid can be nasty and vaccination protects against much more serious illness.

“Right now, I’m feeling extremely grateful for that.”
