A temporary timetable on Scotland’s railways may come to an end if drivers accept a new pay deal offered by ScotRail.
The Aslef union said results of a ballot over a revised pay deal will be announced on Monday.
Union members have refused to work rest days and overtime in a row over pay, branding an offer of a 2.2% salary increase and participation in a shares scheme ‘derisory’.
As a result, Scotland’s national rail provider cut hundreds of services in May as part of a ‘temporary timetable’.
However, more than six weeks on, reduced timetables are still in place, with evening services curtailed and communities cut off.
ScotRail did reinstate some late night services at a later date, however the timetable has caused misery for passengers.
In June, Aslef members were balloted over a new deal proposed by ScotRail, which would see a pay increase of 5%.
Aslef said it was recommending members to accept the deal and that the results of the ballot would be announced on July 11.
