Schools and early years establishments across Scotland are to close for three days due to industrial action.
Parents and guardians in several local authority areas were told of the closures on September 6, 7, and 8, in letters sent on Friday.
The decision has been taken due to a strike including cleaners, janitors, pupil support staff, office staff, technical staff and catering staff.
On Friday, Inverclyde and East Renfrewshire Councils announced the move in a letter.
Both authorities explained that the decision had been taken in the interests of providing a safe environment for pupils and staff.
The announcements come after similar measures were taken by Glasgow City Council.
On Thursday, it said that all nurseries, primaries and ASL schools will be closed during the strike days.
More than three quarters of councils will be impacted by industrial action, with strikes planned across education and waste services across the country.
