Scotland fans' acapella remix of Will Smith's Miami goes viral

The rendition caught the attention of James Corden, who broadcast it on Fox Sports

Four Scotland fans have gone viral for putting their own spin on Will Smith’s iconic song Miami.

Recording the version in their car, the rendition caught the attention of James Corden, who broadcast it on his Fox Sports After Hours programme.

Friends David Kilpatrick, Fraser Glen, Graham Jones and Declan Gallagher came up with the cover as a way to pass time on their long drive from Boston to Miami and it has now been viewed 1.2 million times on Tiktok alone.

Fraser said: “We had been in the car 17 hours and we’d stopped talking to each other and we thought we had to find something to do.”

They changed the words of the 1997 song, which has become the unofficial anthem for the City of Miami, to:

“Scotland in the city when the sun came on,
Drinking beers on the beach since the break of dawn,
Welcome to Miami, bienvenidos Tartan Army,
Coming down from Boston with the kilts still on.
Brazil are the team we’re taking on,
We’re going to Miami,
We’re the famous Tartan Army.”

Graham can’t believe how well it had been received.

“It’s caught on the internet and we are now internet sensations which is wild,” he told STV News.

They have been contacted by Fox News, CBS, Dunkin’ Doughnuts and TikTok itself.

“It’s mental for four essentially middle-aged men to have created one TikTok account with one video on it,” David said.

“It’s unbelievable.”

Despite their newfound celebrity status, it was not enough to get them tickets for the Scotland v Brazil game in Miami.

But they are prepared to drive to Mexico and learn Spanish on the way if Scotland progress.
