Scotland has recorded 16 deaths and 2627 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
Official figures show that as of Thursday, 957 people were in hospital, with 64 patients in intensive care.
Of the 35,891 new tests for Covid-19 that reported results, 7.9% of those were positive.
Just over 4.2 million people have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, whilst around 3.8 million have received their second dose.
It comes after health secretary Humza Yousaf on Thursday said that Scotland is in for an “incredibly, incredibly difficult winter”.
Yousaf told MSPs at Holyrood’s Covid-19 Recovery Committee of the challenges facing health and social care over the coming months.
Concerns have been raised by unions that health care staff are feeling “burnt out”, having been working beyond their contracted hours in responding to the high level of demand upon them.
It has been suggested that more people could be faced with flu or other respiratory viruses this winter, due to immunity potentially being lower as people spent more time indoors last year during lockdowns restrictions.
