Scots could experience travel disruption on Tuesday as a yellow weather warning for ice remains in place across parts of the country.
The Met Office alert will cover much of the north of the country from Aberdeen to Shetland.
Areas including Inverness, Moray, Orkney and parts of the Western Isles will also fall under the warning, which ends at 11am.
Forecasters said people in affected areas should plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than normal to prevent rushing and accidents.
Wintry showers that swept across northern Scotland on Monday should become confined to coastal areas through the early hours of Tuesday.
Injuries could be expected amid icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, the Met Office said.
Temperatures dipped to as low as -10C overnight.
CrossCountry Trains said heavy flooding was blocking lines between Edinburgh Waverley and Newcastle with industrial action by train drivers adding to disruption.
ScotRail urged travellers to be careful on slippy platforms.
Overall, Scotland should see much milder weather in the coming week than it has over the previous seven days.
