Scotland’s Railway has set a new record in support of Poppyscotland, raising more than £202,000 in 2025.
The total, which surpasses last year’s record of £154,344, includes donations from ScotRail customers and gifts-in-kind from ScotRail and Network Rail.
Fundraising efforts this year covered VE Day on 8 May, Armed Forces Day on 28 June, and the 2025 Scottish Poppy Appeal.
Contributions included free on-duty travel passes for Poppyscotland staff, access to retail space in stations, and collection tins placed at ticket offices.
Volunteers were also welcomed in major stations including Glasgow Central, Glasgow Queen Street, Edinburgh Waverley, Haymarket, and Aberdeen.
Paul McKay, ScotRail Communications Director, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have reached another record total in support of Poppyscotland. This reflects the incredible generosity of our customers and the dedication of our people.”
Paul Danks, Network Rail Scotland co-lead for the Armed Forces Employee Network, added: “It’s inspiring to see the generosity of passengers and staff making such a difference.
“Supporting veterans and their families is something we do every day, and we look forward to continuing this partnership.”
Damian Doran-Timson, Poppyscotland Corporate Fundraiser, said the railway’s support made a significant difference for veterans and their families: “On behalf of our veterans, Poppyscotland would like to express our gratitude to railway staff and the generous rail users who donate at our appeals.”
