Secondary school teachers across Scotland have walked out of classrooms in the latest wave of strike action amid a long-running dispute over pay.
Members of the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS), NASUWT, Scottish Secondary Teachers’ Association and the Association of Headteachers and Deputes in Scotland are taking part in two days of industrial walkouts after negotiations with the Scottish Government and COSLA failed to reach an agreement.
Education secretary Shirley-Anne Sommerville said the two sides remained “some distance” apart in reaching a deal.
