Scotland’s unemployment rate rose by 0.1% in the final three months of 2025, the latest figures show.
Data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) put Scotland’s unemployment rate at 3.8% between October and December.
The employment rate, which measures those between 16 and 64 who are in work, also rose during the same period.
It went up by 0.4% to 74.8% during the last quarter of 2025.
Meanwhile, the ONS figures showed the rate of economic inactivity – those between 16 and 64 who are not in work and not looking for work – fell in Scotland.
It fell by 0.5% during the quarter to 22.3%.
The UK-wide unemployment rate was 5.2% in the final three months of 2025.
The employment rate was 75.0% and the inactivity rate was 20.8%.
