More than a thousand runners across Scotland have been taking part in the annual Santa Dash.

This year, runners have been following their own routes locally and logging their progress online.

So far they’ve raised thousands of pounds for the Beatson Cancer Charity and children’s hospices across Scotland.

Glasgow City Council’s annual event usually sees the city centre turned into a sea of red as thousands of Santas pound the streets to raise money for charity.

But this year’s event has been organised by the Beatson virtually due to coronavirus social distancing requirements.

Calum McNairm the Beatson’s challenges and community fundraiser, said: “Fundraising has gone down substantially because of everything that’s happening and it’s through events in the community like this that we are able to still provide services.”
