Stephen Flynn is delivering the opening speech of the SNP’s 89th national conference in Aberdeen.
The party’s Westminster leader and Aberdeen South MP is kicking off the three-day event that will see the SNP decide its independence strategy ahead of the next general election.
Later on Sunday party members will vote on a motion signed by Flynn and First Minister Humza Yousaf to start independence negotiations immediately if the SNP wins the most seats at the next general election.
The SNP will also release its governance and transparency review which was sparked by Police Scotland’s investigation into the party’s finances and funding.
