There are five weather warnings in place as we head into Saturday with Storm Babet continuing to batter much of Scotland with heavy rain and strong winds.
With life-threatening floodwater, dangerous driving conditions, and the risk of power cuts and communities being cut off, the advice is to check how your area is affected before heading out.
Red rain warning
Angus and Aberdeenshire – 00.00 Friday – 00.00 Saturday
A red alert for rain comes into force at midnight on Friday. It warns of life-threatening floods, serious damage to buildings, and widespread disruption to travel.
Communities could be completely cut off, perhaps for several days.
It is in force for the entirety of Saturday and covers parts of Angus and Aberdeenshire.
Amber rain warning
Angus, Dundee, Fife, Perth and Kinross, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray – 00.00 Friday – 00.00 Saturday
Prolonged and heavy rain leading to further flooding across Angus, Dundee, Fife, Perth and Kinross, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray.
It is in force from midnight on Friday until midnight on Saturday.
Another amber warning is in force for south east Scotland from midday on Friday until 6am on Saturday.
Yellow wind and rain warnings
Central and eastern Scotland – 00.00 Friday – 00.00 Saturday
Heavy rain will bring flooding across much of Scotland and high winds will disrupt travel.
Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges is likely and there will be disruption to public transport.
The rain warning is in force from 6am on Thursday until midnight on Saturday.
The wind warning is in force from midday on Friday until midday on Saturday.
