The first injuries related to Storm Eowyn have been reported to emergency services, with one person in hospital.

The adverse weather conditions have resulted in Police Scotland responding to several collisions across the country.
Milngavie’s Strathblane Road has been closed due to a one-car crash near Mugdock Park. A person has been transported to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
Drivers have been urged to avoid the area as emergency services remain on the scene.
Police and ambulance crews were also called to Glasgow’s Balmore Road following reports of a van being crushed by a fallen tree at around 9am.
The driver of the vehicle was treated by medical teams at the scene and the van was recovered.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.05am on Friday, January 24, 2025. we were called to Balmore Road, Glasgow following a report that a tree had fallen on a van.
“The driver was treated by ambulance staff and the vehicle was recovered.”
