Holidaymakers in Greece returning to Scotland will have to self-isolate for 14 days after the country was added to the quarantine list.
The measures came into effect at 4am on Thursday.
It comes after a significant rise in cases of coronavirus being imported from the Mediterranean country, the Scottish Government said.
Justice secretary Humza Yousaf said the situation in countries “can change suddenly” and urged people to “think very hard before committing to non-essential travel abroad.”
He added: “With Scotland’s relatively low infection rate, importation of new cases from Greece is a significant risk to public health.”
Greece joins a number of countries which Scottish travellers must enter quarantine after visiting, including Spain, Czech Republic and The Netherlands.
Travellers who do not comply with the requirement to quarantine may be fined £480.
