NCATwo Scottish men, including an alleged pub killer, are among 12 of the UK’s most wanted who are believed to be living in Spain.
The National Crime Agency has released the latest list of fugitives two decades after the launch of Operation Captura, a multi-agency campaign which has seen 98 fugitives apprehended out of 111 publicised.
Spain is a popular destination for British expats and criminals on the run, with Scots such as double rapist James Clacher being arrested in the country after fleeing Scotland.
Derek McGraw Ferguson is among the 12 UK nationals believed to have fled to Spain. He is accused of shooting Thomas Cameron outside the Auchinairn Tavern in Bishopbriggs on June 28, 2007.
NCAMr Cameron, who was 49 at the time of the murder, is understood to have left the pub in which he worked at around 7pm to speak to two men in the car park opposite a row of shops.
A few minutes later, the dad-of-three was shot, and the pair fled the scene. Mr Cameron died despite the efforts of colleagues and customers who rushed to his aid.
Ferguson is now believed to be aged 62, and authorities say he is likely to be living under a different name and may be speaking with a different accent in Spain.
John Rocks is also on the run from Police Scotland for sexual offences between August 2012 and October 2022.
The National Crime Agency believe the 37-year-old has links to the Benidorm area of Spain.
