The First Minister is outlining Scotland’s latest coronavirus guidelines amid concern over a steep rise in cases of the Omicron variant.
Nicola Sturgeon addressed MSPs at the Scottish Parliament on Tuesday afternoon.
She warned that Omicron cases are “increasingly exponentially” – faster than any variant that has gone before.
Setting out the response to the increase in cases over the festive period, the First Minister insisted that she is not asking anyone to “cancel Christmas”.
But, she urged people to reduce “as far as possible” contact with people form other households in the run-up to and aftermath of Christmas.
The First Minister also asked that the number of households represented in groups, either at home or in indoor public places, is kept to a maximum of three.
Keeping celebrations “as small as your family circumstances allow” is also “sensible” over Christmas, the First Minister said.
