I can hardly believe it’s already the end of October.
Luckily, we’ve only seen one named storm so far, and even better—the forecast looks fairly quiet for the foreseeable future.
Halloween is almost here, and no doubt your kids are excited to go guising. Kilmarnock got an early start last Friday with its traditional Killieween.
I’ve got my Halloween puns at the ready for a frightful forecast, but this year’s weather seems rather tame, with only a bit of dreadful drizzle.
For Halloween evening, there will be heavier rain for Shetland, Orkney, and the far north Highlands, with drizzle spreading down the west of the country. Expect damp conditions across Argyll and Bute, Ayrshire, and around Glasgow — so witches, have your hairdryers on standby to dry off those cats when you get home.
The best of the Halloween weather will be over Moray, Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen, and Angus, where it will stay drier and clearer.
However, any werewolves hoping to howl at the full moon are out of luck — there won’t be one as the new moon falls on November 1. But that pitch-black sky should set the scene for some eerie fun.
Have a fantastic Halloween, and I’ll be back soon with an update for Guy Fawkes Night.
