Parts of Scotland are to face freezing temperatures and icy conditions overnight after a yellow weather warning was issued by the Met Office.
Wintry showers will continue across northern Scotland for the rest of Monday, gradually becoming confined to coastal areas through the early hours of Tuesday.
The Met Office warned that icy patches are expected where rain falls onto frozen surfaces and a few centimetres of snow are also possible in some places.
The warning for ice, which began at 3pm on Monday is set to expire at 11am on Tuesday and covers Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Eilean Siar, Highland and both the Orkney and Shetland islands.
Forecasters said people in affected areas should plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than normal to prevent rushing and accidents.
If you need to make a journey on foot or by bike, try to use pavements along main roads which are likely to be less slippery, the Met Office said.
It urged people to check bus or train services before departing on their journeys and to amend travel plans if necessary.
The weather warning is the latest to be issued by the Met Office as much of Scotland has seen temperatures plummet over the past few days.
The mercury plummeted to -7.3C in Drumnadrochit in Inverness on Sunday into Monday while Altnaharra in Sutherland dipped to -7C.
