Aberdeen have smashed their transfer sales record after agreeing to sell teenage full back Calvin Ramsay to Liverpool in a deal worth up to £8m.

The Dons had been holding out for £5m pounds up front but have settled on a deal that will see them receive £4.5m as an initial fee, with a further £3.5m of appearance and success-based add-ons.

It’s understood that Aberdeen also hold a 20% sell-on clause. It’s a significant figure for an 18 year old who only broke into the first team at Pittodrie last season.

Ramsay was named as SFWA young player of the year after playing over 30 times in what was a difficult season for the team. The teenager also has three Under-21 caps for Scotland and has been tipped as a future full international.

Meanwhile long-serving Aberdeen defender Andrew Considine looks set to sign for St Johnstone after failing to agree terms to stay on a Pittodrie.

Considine played 571 times for his boyhood club, but despite interest from abroad has opted to remain in Scotland with a move to Perth.
