Aberdeen have moved up to third in the Premiership with an emphatic 4-1 win over Hibs at Pittodrie on Friday night.
Bojan Miovski hit a double and Ylber Ramadani put the Dons 3-0 up before Mykola Kukharevych pulled one back for the visitors who now drop to fourth after losing their fifth away game in a row.
Leighton Clarkson added a sublime fourth to put the icing on the cake for the home support who celebrate their fifth win in the seven games since the 3-1 defeat to Hibs in September.
Jim Goodwin’s men were on the back foot for large parts of the game, but they were far more clinical in front of goal as they continued their good run of form to go a point ahead of the Easter Road side who have played a game extra.
A healthy crowd of more than 16,000 packed into Pittodrie for one of two Premiership games taking place on Friday night.
Miovski scored the game’s opener from the penalty spot on the eighth minute of first half injury time after missing his first attempt before getting a second chance with a retake after David Marshall was judged to have come off his line.
The forward made it 2-0 around ten minutes into the second half for his eleventh goal in just 16 games this season since joining from MTK Budapest in the summer.
Hibs had most of the possession and missed a string of chances, finishing the game with 17 shots to Aberdeen’s eight, but the vast majority of their chances were off target in a night to forget in the north-east.
Ramadani put the game beyond them on the hour mark, before Kukharevych pulled one back around five minutes later to give the away support hope of a comeback.
But Clarkson, on loan from Liverpool, produced a composed finish to make it 4-1 and secure victory for Aberdeen with little more than ten minutes to go.
