Aberdeen have confirmed their management team for the visit of Celtic to Pittodrie at the weekend following the sacking of Barry Robson.
Robson and his assistant Steve Agnew departed the club after a 1-1 home draw with Dundee on Tuesday night that left the Dons in eighth place in the Premiership table.
Aberdeen confirmed that former Kilmarnock player and current coach Peter Leven, assisted by Scott Anderson, will take over the team for the visit of league leaders Celtic to Pittodrie on Saturday.
A statement released by the club on Friday said: “The club can confirm First Team Coach Peter Leven, assisted by Scott Anderson, will take charge of the team for the visit of Celtic to Pittodrie.
“Both have worked tirelessly these past few days to oversee training and prepare the squad for Saturday.
“An update on the search for a new coaching team will be communicated in due course, but in the meantime Peter and Scott are fully focused on the cinch Premiership fixture and have the full support of everyone at AFC.”
Originally appointed on an interim basis following Jim Goodwin’s sacking, former midfielder Robson turned around the team’s form and led a climb from seventh place in the table to third, securing European football.
That led to Robson being named as permanent manager in May and being backed in the summer transfer window.
However, in a statement released by the club on Wednesday, chairman Dave Cormack said that Robson had been given time and support but that the performances had not been up to the standard set early in his time in charge.
Neil Warnock and Neil Lennon are among those linked with the Pittodrie vacancy.
