Aberdeen have announced their second signing of transfer deadline day, adding Callum Hendry on loan.
The forward moves to Pittodrie on loan from St Johnstone until the end of the season.
He follows fellow striker Fraser Hornby through the door after the Scotland Under-21 player signed a similar deal earlier on Monday evening.
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes was happy to add to his options.
“I’m delighted we’ve managed to secure Callum on loan,” he told the club website. “He’s a player we feel can, not only give us a physical presence at the top of the pitch, but he is a player with great potential.
“He arrives, along with Fraser and he gives us good options in the forward areas. We’re looking forward to working with him.”
The club later announced that 28-year-old forward Curtis Main had left Aberdeen after having his contract cancelled. He will be able to sign for any club after the deadline as a free agent and McInnes indicated that he had his next destination lined up.
“We wish Curtis well in his new venture,” the Dons manager said.
“He was a player who worked extremely hard during his time here, but we felt changing up the forward line with different options was the right thing to do at this time.
“Having worked with him for two years I know how determined Curtis will be to make his next club a success and he goes with our best wishes.”
