Aberdeen sealed a 1-0 win over Ross County thanks to a magnificent solo effort from Shayden Morris.
The winger used his pace to great effect to burst clear and score the only goal of the game in the 33rd minute, with their hosts unable to muster any sort of response over the remaining hour of play.
Ross County fans suffered a blow before a ball had even been kicked in Dingwall, as it was announced that Noah Chilvers has injured his ACL and is set for a spell on the sidelines.
County had the game’s first shot on target in the 12th minute though, when Jordan White met James Brown’s free-kick but could only head into the waiting hands of visiting goalkeeper Ross Doohan.
However, in the 16th minute Kevin Nisbet had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock when he was slipped through, albeit at a narrow angle, only for Jordan Amissah to get a strong hand on the shot to keep it out.
The Dons continued to pose a threat, with Topi Keskinen feeding Morris to take aim at goal, but again Amissah was able to keep the effort out.
Morris would get another chance of his own making just after the half-hour mark, breaking free on a counter attack and carrying the ball from inside his own half into the County box before smashing his shot off the underside of the bar and into the net.
The hosts tried to come out for the second half with renewed attacking vigour, and club captain Connor
Randall did force Doohan to dive low to his right to keep out one effort minutes after the restart.
At the other end, Amissah needed quick reactions to hold on to an effort from Papa Habib Gueye in the 69th minute and ensure the deficit remained at a single goal.
Leighton Clarkson went close with an effort from distance 15 minutes before the end but his shot was always just too high of the mark.
Although there has been late drama on countless occasions in Dingwall this season, there was to be no last-minute twist in the tale as the Dons held on for all three points.
That meant Aberdeen remain one point behind Hibernian in the race for third, while Ross County are now only a single point ahead of Dundee in the relegation play-off spot.
