Aberdeen and Hibernian are both through to the third qualifying round of the Europa Conference League, though the Scottish sides had mixed fortunes in their second leg matches.

HIbs had travelled to Andorra for their return leg against Santa Coloma with a 3-0 advantage from an eventful first game at Easter Road.

After an uneventful first half, the part-time side surprised Hibs with a 70th minute goal, Guillaume Lopez slamming home a shot that Matt Macey couldn’t stop. Substitute Jamie Murphy scored just minutes later to settle any small doubts Hibs may have had about the outcome of the tie.

The visitors wrapped things up three minutes after Murphy’s goal when Daniel MacKay pounced on a rebound from a Chirstian Doidge shot to score his first Hibs goal. The Edinburgh side now go on to face Croatian side Rijeka.

Aberdeen had a considerable cushion from a 5-1 home win as they face BK Hacken and were untroubled in the first half but the Swedes hadn’t given up on turning the tie around.

Former Sweden international Martin Olsson broke forward to open the scoring after 51 minutes and give his side faint hopes. That optimism increased when Leo Bengtsson scored from the spot with 22 minutes to go.

Aberdeen were looking shaky but a red card for Hacken’s Patrik Walemark took the fire out of the hosts and the Dons will now face Austria Vienna or Briedablik in the next round.
