Kristoffer Ajer is set to complete a transfer move from Celtic to Brentford after undergoing a medical with the English club.
The newly-promoted Premier League side have identified Ajer as a player who can boost their hopes of survival in the top flight and have agreed a transfer fee with Celtic in the region of £13m.
The Norwegian defender is expected to finalise his move and sign a contract within the next 24 hours.
Ajer joined Celtic from Start in 2016 and, after a season on loan at Kilmarnock, established himself in the first team squad. The centre-back has won three league titles, three League Cups and three Scottish Cups but was keen to leave Glasgow to further his career.
While on international duty, he said that Celtic had agreed to let him move on this summer, and declared his wish to sign for a “top five” league.
The 23-year-old was linked with Newcastle United but Brentford have been successful in securing the 23-cap Norwegian.
