Celtic have sold Albian Ajeti to Turkish side Gaziantep, ending the striker’s unsuccessful spell in Glasgow.
The Swiss striker has signed a one-year deal with the Super Lig side, with Gaziantep holding an option for a further year if the signing is successful.
No transfer fee has been announced but it is expected that Celtic will only have recouped a small fraction of the £5m the club paid West Ham for his services in 2020.
Ajeti moved from the English Premier League side with expectation on his shoulders and the international forward scored on his debut against Dundee United but he soon lost his first team place and fell out of favour.
He went on to make only 26 Premiership appearances over the next two season, scoring eight times, and was sent to Sturm Graz on loan last season.
Gaziantep, who announced the signing with a social media video of his goals for clubs and country, said:
“We welcome Ajeti to our club and wish him great success under our crest.”
