Ange Postecoglou says Celtic 'making progress' on incoming and outgoings amid Hyeon-Gyu Oh link

Celtic are ‘making progress’ on the transfer front as negotiations continue with players both coming in and going out.

The latest player linked to the Premiership league leaders is South Korean forward Hyeon-Gyu Oh with the futures of Giorgos Giakoumakis and Josip Juranovic also a focus of speculation throughout the month.

But while the manager did reveal that he is expecting further progress to be made in the next few days with ongoing negotiations, he had nothing concrete on specifics when he spoke to the press on Friday.

Postecoglou said: “There has been progress on incomings and outgoings, but nothing confirmed yet. Obviously we are getting to the tail end of the window and I expect progress over the next few days.”

When asked about the link to the 21-year-old international striker and what he would bring to the side, the Australian said: “He would bring the same as any hypothetical player.

“I wouldn’t bring them here if I never thought they could contribute.”

Celtic begin their Scottish Cup campaign at home to Greenock Morton on Saturday as they look to win the only trophy missing from last season’s haul.

“It’s no different from any other tournament, it’s the nature of the role here. The desire and the ambition is always there to be as successful as we possibly can,” Postecoglou added.
