Ayr United have been awarded a 3-0 win over Elgin City in their Premier Sports Cup tie after the League Two outfit admitted to fielding an ineligible player.
SPFL bosses also fined the club £1,000 and reprimanded them over their future conduct following the inclusion of the suspended Darryl McHardy in the Group F match on Saturday, July 9.
The defender entered the match as a 33rd minute substitute despite being under a one-match SFA ban at the time.
Ayr won 4-3 on penalties following a 0-0 draw, but have now been awarded three points and a walkover win.
Elgin admitted a breach of the rules earlier this week.
Half of the four-figure fine has been suspended until the end of the season pending any other breaches of SPFL regulations.
The result moves Elgin to the bottom of the group, below Premiership side St Johnstone.
Ayr move on to three points, behind Queen of the South on goal difference.
Elgin take on Annan Athletic on Saturday, while Ayr are next in action at Galabank on Tuesday.
