Aberdeen manager Barry Robson admits he is looking forward to some home comforts when they host BK Hacken in the Europa League play-offs.

Four of the Dons’ five games this season have been away from home. The latest was a 2-2 draw against St Mirren in Paisley when Robson’s side snatched an unlikely point 10 minutes into stoppage time following Bojan Miovski’s controversial penalty.

The Dons’ only defeat this season has been at home against Celtic but, after trips to Livingston, Stirling, Gothenburg and Paisley, plus pre-season games at the likes of Preston and Charlton, Robson is relishing a full house at Pittodrie.

Robson, whose side drew 2-2 in Sweden last week, said: “We have played one game at Pittodrie since the last time we played St Mirren about four months ago. We’ve been on the road, none of us have seen our families!

“To be honest, I think we are all looking forward to going home. It will be nice to see what the Pittodrie pitch is like and spend some time with all our fans.

“It’s really difficult on the road for any team, no matter who you are.

“Pulling points out and winning away at Stirling and pulling out a draw at Hacken, I think we have done all right so far and our team is still gelling. We are still trying to get more players.

“We are really looking forward to the game and we need to perform as well as we can, and try and take the club into the Europa League.”

Aberdeen’s squad for the second leg is settled but they could have further reinforcements ahead of Friday night’s transfer deadline.

The Dons have been strongly linked with a move for Senegal striker Pape Habib Gueye from Belgian side KV Kortrijk.

Robson said: “We are speaking to someone and maybe we can release something on that in the next day or two. You never know, we will have to see where we are after that.”
