Bojan Miovski is confident he will go from strength to strength after his double helped Rangers to a 3-0 William Hill Premiership win at Kilmarnock.

The 26-year-old North Macedonia striker has taken time to settle at Ibrox since signing from Girona in the summer for a reported initial fee of £2.6m and had only scored twice for the Gers ahead of the trip to Rugby Park.

There was little between the two sides until Miovski put the visitors ahead in the 33rd minute with an opportunistic shot from the edge of the area and he added a second in the 54th minute with a confident finish from inside the box.

Danny Rohl’s side wrapped up the points nine minutes from time through a fine goal from substitute Mikey Moore after frustrated Killie boss Stuart Kettlewell was sent off by referee Kevin Clancy, presumably for dissent.

Former Aberdeen striker Miovski said: “Of course the confidence comes with spending more time on the pitch and of course understanding the players.

“We didn’t have a lot of time to work on the training ground as well, national team, away games, and not a lot of training.

“So we start to feel the chemistry, to understand the movements and these things so I think I will be good.

“I didn’t have a lot of game time in the last year, so I was just trying to find a consistency and to get in shape, to collect more minutes on the pitch, and I’m starting to get that.

“I feel better, sharper on the pitch and, of course, I’ll try to keep going.

“Every football player wants to play and spend more time on the pitch.

“As I say, I didn’t have that last year. I have played three games in a row in the starting XI, I hope to keep going.

“I always say when you work hard and give everything, the goals will come. I scored two goals and I hope I will continue that way.”

Gers fans were delighted to see Moore back in action after missing the previous four games with a muscle problem.

Following a fine individual counter-attack when he ended a penetrating run with a assured finish, the 18-year-old Spurs loanee had the ball in the net a second time, only for the goal to be chalked off for an earlier infringement by Gers defender Emmanuel Fernandez.

An appreciative Miovski said: “Mikey is the top player.

“There’s a reason he is in Tottenham and he’s great player.

“So, of course, he’s helping us a lot.

“He showed up on Saturday, he showed up in the past, so, of course, it’s nice (for him) to be back in the team.”

Kilmarnock have gone nine games without a win and assistant manager Stevie Frail said: “The bottom line is we’re disappointed with the three goals that we lost.

“If we’d taken a couple more draws from the recent run it wouldn’t look as bad.

“Other teams are on similar runs at the minute. We got two draws recently with Dundee United and Hearts.

“We’re getting punished for individual errors leading to goals.”
