Brian Kerr says the way St Mirren have reacted to pull through a tough period for the club is testament to the work put in by Stephen Robinson and his players.
The assistant manager has been impressed by how several off the field issues have been dealt with and believes the squad has been galvanised as a result.
The Paisley club are back in the top-half of the Premiership after a chaotic start to the campaign.
Summer signings Adam Rooney, Kevin van Veen and Jaden Brown have all been released in recent weeks after being the subject of police investigations and criminal court proceedings.
Those situations coincided with a rocky few weeks on the park for the Saints, with just one win in a period of 12 games between August and November.
But Robinson’s men have now turned it around with three wins and a draw from their last four games, including ending Aberdeen’s undefeated league start under Jimmy Thelin with a 2-1 victory last weekend.
Speaking to the media on Friday as they prepare to take on Dundee United on Saturday, Kerr said: “Every player out there has been giving everything for the team, but the football has been excellent as well, with the chances we have been creating.
“So it’s not only about the hard work and the basic stuff, we are doing a lot of the other stuff very well also.
“When things are tough it has been the manager’s experience that has shone through.
“With some of the things we’ve had going on in the last few months it’s good to see how he has handled that.
“It’s testament to the players as well, they have come through a real tough time and it has galvanised the squad and how they are now kicking on.
“In the last three or four weeks we are really seeing a squad that has pulled together and pushed in the right direction.
“How the manager has dealt with it all has been impeccable from start to finish.”
