Celtic have agreed a £3.5m deal to sign Luis Palma from Aris Thessaloniki, as Brendan Rodgers strengthens his squad ahead of the transfer deadline.
The 23-year-old will fly into Glasgow next week to finalise the deal and could be a part of the squad to face Rangers at Ibrox on September 3.
Palma is set to become Celtic’s seventh signing of the summer window, and the club are also making moves to add a defender after Cameron Carter-Vickers, Stephen Welsh and Maik Nawrocki were ruled out for the next eight weeks.
The 23-year-old winger began his career at Honduran club Vida, and moved to Aris last year. Seventeen goals and 11 assists in 52 games for the Greek club saw him targeted by Celtic and he will now compete for a place in the Premiership champions’ forward line.
It’s been a busy transfer window at Celtic Park, with Aaron Mooy, Jota and Carl Starfelt all leaving after securing the Treble last year.
New faces have arrived though, with Kwon Hyeok-kyu and Yang Hyun-Ju arriving from the K-League and Marco Tilio recruited from Melbourne City.
Odin Thiago Holm has joined from Valerenga, while Maik Narwocki and Gustaf Lagerbielke have come in to add to Rodgers’ options in defence.
