Celtic goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas has made a season-long loan move to Dutch side FC Utrecht.
Barkas had fallen out of the first team picture at the Scottish champions and has moved on in search of regular football.
The Greek international had arrived as a high-profile signing from AEK Athens with Celtic reportedly agreeing a fee of between £4m and £5m for his services as he signed a four-year contract.
Barkas failed to impress in a Celtic shirt and lost his place under manager Neil Lennon to Scott Bain and then youngster Connor Hazard as the club failed to identify their best choice for the position.
Ange Postecoglou’s arrival as manager brought a decisive move, with the club signing former England goalkeeper Joe Hart, who instantly became the club’s number one choice.
Barkas’ exit has been expected and he will now look to impress in the Eredivise next season.
