Celtic are looking at defender Gustaf Lagerbielke as a replacement for Carl Starfelt as he prepares to leave the Premiership champions.
Starfelt is expected to move from Celtic Park, with manager Brendan Rodgers having already admitted a transfer to a top league was a real prospect, and that there could be movement on that within the next week.
With the Celtic boss wanting four players to cover the two centre-back spots, that means another player coming in, and Lagerbielke is of interest.
The 23-year-old is a mainstay, with Elfsborg currently top of the Swedish top flight, and he also made his international debut in January.
That experience has marked Lagerbielke out as a potential recruit, though Celtic are still considering their options.
The champions have brought in several players in the summer, with Jota and Aaron Mooy being the only major exits from the first team squad.
Defender Maik Nawrocki has already joined, and forwards, Yang and Marco Tilio have been recruited. Odin Thiago Holm and Kwon have also been added to the squad as the team look to defend all three domestic trophies and progress in Europe.
