Stand in captain Cameron Carter-Vickers is looking for Celtic to regain a consistent run of wins and performances starting with Hibs at home on Saturday.
The USA international, who has been wearing the armband in Callum McGregor’s absence, also defended their recent Champions League performances despite back-to-back defeats against RB Leipzig that leaves them bottom of their group with no chance of making the last-16.
The 24-year-old English-born centre-back says he has seen enough to be convinced that they can compete at that level and believes the experience of this season will stand them in good stead going forward.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s Premiership clash at Celtic Park he said: “I think in all the games so far, we’ve competed pretty well.
“You probably say that last little bit we need to improve. But it’s our first time in this competition as a squad and something that we’re going to learn and try and improve on.
“Not many of us have played this level before, only maybe one or two have. So, for us, it’s a big learning curve and we’re enjoying it, embracing it and just trying to get better.
“I think it’s something we’re trying to embrace and enjoy as much as we can. Obviously, Champions League is the highest level of club football you can get.
“So,the games are good for us to kind of see where we match up against the best teams in the world.”
The league leaders have also been going through a bit of a sticky patch domestically for their own standards with a 2-0 defeat at St Mirren followed by two tight victories over Motherwell and St Johnstone.
A Giorgos Giakoumakis winner deep into injury time sealed the three points with a 2-1 victory in Perth.
And Carter-Vickers is now looking to get back into their stride and return to the form that saw them build a lead over Rangers in early September.
He said: “In the league it is about trying to keep as consistent as we can and keep trying to win games of football.”
