Celtic have reached an agreement in principle with Israeli side Bnei Yehuda to sign Ismaila Soro for £2 million pounds, STV has learned.
The clubs have been in discussions for a number of days over the proposed transfer of the midfielder and a breakthrough was made on Thursday.
But we understand there is still work to be done to get the deal over the line.
Soro, who was born in the Ivory Coast, will require a visa to play in Scotland and his move will also be subject to passing a medical.
The 21-year-old played in Moldova and Belarus before moving to Israel in 2018.
Neil Lennon has indicated he could make up to four signings during this window.
Patryck Klimar joined the champions on a four-and-half year deal earlier this week.
