Martin O’Neill has named his starting line-up for Celtic’s Europa League clash with Feyenoord in Rotterdam.
Celtic are looking to boost their hopes of qualification for the knock-out rounds with what would only be a second win of the League Phase so far, and aim to take three important points from Robin van Persie’s Feyenoord side.
Defeat to league leaders Midtjylland last time out has left Celtic in 27th place in the 36-team table but with every chance of securing progress to the later rounds. Feyenoord are in 29th place and have lost four of their last five games across all competitions.
With O’Neill expecting to end his interim spell as manager in the next few days, he hopes to leave the team with the best possible chance of success and has named a surprising line-up for the match, which kicks off at 5.45pm UK time.
Kasper Schmeichel starts in goal, with Kieran Tierney, Liam Scales, Auston Trusty and Colby Donovan in defence.
Callum McGregor captains the side as usual, with Reo Hatate and Arne Engels joining him in midfield.
However, there’s an unfamiliar look to the attacking trio, with Yang, Luke McCowan and Daizen Maeda picked to start, as Johnny Kenny and Sebastian Tounekti drop to the bench, where they are joined by Kelechi Iheanacho following his return from injury.
