Che Adams is fit and says Scotland are 'raring to go' as they prepare for Ukraine

Scotland striker Che Adams has shrugged off a sickness bug and says he and the team are ready to take on Ukraine and earn promotion to the top tier of the Nations League.

Manager Steve Clarke revealed on Monday morning that Adams and fellow forward Lyndon Dykes has suffered from sickness as a virus hit the Scotland camp.

Adams confirmed he was wasn’t at his best but said he would be fit enough to play a role in a gem where Scotland just need a draw to earn several rewards, including a Euro 2024 play-off place.

“I feel great, feeling better,” the Southampton striker said.

“It is one of those ones where we have to get through it and put in a massive performance tomorrow.

“I am tough, I can play. If it was any worse then maybe I couldn’t but I’m fit and ready to go for tomorrow.”

Adams has played his part as Scotland have taken maximum points from their games against Ukraine and Republic of Ireland in Glasgow during this international camp.

Adams believes Scotland had a point to prove after losing the World Cup play-off against the Ukrainians in the summer, and can follow last Tuesday’s emphatic 3-0 win with another memorable game.

He said: “We have had a good two games in this campaign, we just have to end it well and get over the line

“In the summer, we let them off the hook really. We made up for it in the game the other night at home.

“It wasn’t good enough in the summer and it was up to us to put it right at Hampden and we surely did that.

“It is going to be another tough one but one we are looking forward to it, the boys are raring to go and hopefully we can get it over the line.”
