Scotland manager Steve Clarke has picked his side for Wednesday’s World Cup qualifier against Denmark, with Kieran Tierney apparently playing as a makeshift right wing-back.
Clarke has had to deal with a number of absences for the crucial match with Rangers right-back Nathan Patterson unavailable as he self-isolates, while regular Stephen O’Donnell unable to travel after recently testing positive for Covid. John McGinn is also missing after a positive test, while Scott McTominay is injured.
The Scotland boss has reshuffled his pack and named a strong side for the game, though he has had to be creative to cover the absences.
Craig Gordon is in goal and Grant Hanley, Liam Cooper and Scott McKenna play as a defensive trio. Captain Andy Robertson is on the left flank, with Tierney filling in on the opposite side.
Billy Gilmour, Callum McGregor and Kenny McLean are in midfield, while Ryan Fraser is playing off striker Che Adams.
Liam Kelly, Zander Clark, Lyndon Dykes, Ryan Christie, Jack Hendry, Declan Gallagher, Lewis Ferguson and David Turnbull are on the bench.
Scotland currently sit in second place in their qualifying group as they aim to follow Euro 2020 qualification with a trip to Qatar for next year’s World Cup finals.
