Confidence is key to Europa League run says Rangers’ Ryan Kent SNS Group

Rangers winger Ryan Kent is hoping past experience in the Europa League can help the Ibrox side secure a place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Giovanni Van Bronkchorst’s men take on Red Star Belgrade in the second leg of their last 16 tie, holding a 3-0 advantage from the first leg.

With the Serbians needing to overturn a three goal margin, Kent is hoping for exciting game of football.

He said: “The level of opposition goes up which tends to make the games a lot more open.

“Both sets of teams want to play football. There’s probably a lack of parking the bus so tripling up, doubling up on players gives me more opportunities to do what I do.

Rangers were knocked out at this stage of the competition by Slavia Prague last year but Kent is hoping for a deeper run in the Europa League this time around.

He added: “Each player in the team probably raises the level a bit more given the opposition of these games because it’s a very exciting fixture.

“After each year of participating in this competition, we’ve always wanted to improve on the previous year which we have done so far.

“That’s no different for this year we want to go as far as we can in this competition.

“We try to have as much confidence going into each game and that’ll be no different heading into this game.”
