Blairgowrie golfer Connor Graham became just the second Scottish winner of the R&A Junior Open after winning by five strokes at Monifieth Golf Links.
The 15-year-old – who follows in the footsteps of compatriot David Inglis, the 1998 winner – finished on 13 under to finish well ahead of Thailand’s heavily fancied Ratchanon Chantananuwat.
With 1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie among the onlookers on Wednesday, Graham carded a bogey-free five under 67 final round in a 110-strong field of players aged 12-16 from 64 nations around the globe.
“It’s a great feeling to come out on top in such a big event,” said Graham, who claimed his first win of 2022 after four victories last year.
“Ratchanon’s obviously a very good player and it feels good to perform well against him and other good players.
“This win ranks very high just because of the way I performed here. I didn’t drop a shot (on Wednesday) under the pressure so I’m really pleased about that.”
