David Gray says he is “delighted” to cap off a “brilliant week” with a win over Hearts in the Edinburgh Derby.
A 2-1 win against their city rivals at Easter Road on Sunday moved Hibernian up to third in the Premiership table.
Goals from Martin Boyle and Jack Iredale cancelled out Jorge Grant’s equaliser to give the home side all three points.
The win also extends Hibs’ unbeaten run, dating back to the start of December, with 11 wins and four draws from their last 15 games.
It came on the back of a win over champions Celtic last weekend and a midweek win away to third-place challengers Dundee United.
Speaking after the game, the Hibs boss said: “We are delighted to win the derby, it’s not just about today. I think when you think back to the week we’ve had and games we’ve had.
“To beat Celtic here and then to go up to Tannadice and win, and then finish that off by beating your local rivals at home.
“It was a huge game, both clubs going into it really high on confidence so I’m just delighted to get the three points to finish off a brilliant week.
“The players have put some effort into it and fully deserved it based on the second half performance especially.
“First half I thought we looked a bit nervy, turned the ball over a bit much and never had enough quality at times in possession.
“Second half we were much more like ourselves and I thought we really deserved to win the game based on that second half.
“We saw the game out really well as well, which is pleasing for everyone.”
