Hibernian manager David Gray stressed there would be no let-up in their quest for improvement as they look to take their impressive form to new heights.

The Hibs players joined the fans in an emotional rendition of ‘Sunshine on Leith’ after securing back-to-back derby wins against Hearts for the first time in 16 years on Sunday.

The win took Hibs’ unbeaten run to 15 matches and followed victories over Celtic and Dundee United in the William Hill Premiership.

Hibs have moved from bottom spot to third in the space of four months but the biggest test of their recent run comes when they travel to Celtic Park on Sunday along with 7,000 visiting fans for a hotly-anticipated Scottish Gas Scottish Cup quarter-final.

Gray said: “It was a brilliant ending to a fantastic week, three very difficult games at any stage of the season, especially with what we are going for.

“It was a special moment for the players after the game. The togetherness, we felt it. You need to enjoy these moments, they don’t come around very often, they are special moments.

“But then we came back on the Monday and the message was ‘we haven’t achieved anything yet’. The mindset quickly switches to the cup and I always say at the start of every season you have an opportunity to win a cup here.

“Clearly we have a very difficult task ahead of us but the players are going there in a very good place and the confidence and momentum is still there.

“The challenge is to keep moving forward. One thing we won’t do is get carried away. We have come a long way in a short period of time but there’s still a lot to play for.”
