Livingston have announced that manager David Martindale will miss Saturday’s match against Aberdeen as he recovers in hospital after being diagnosed with kidney stones.
The club announced on Twitter that Martindale had been taken into hospital on Friday night following “severe abdominal pain”.
It was revealed to be kidney stones, and the Livingston boss has been kept in hospital overnight for “observation”.
With assistant Marvin Bartley suspended, first team coach Neil Hastings will take the team against the Dons.
A club statement read: “Livingston FC can confirm that manager David Martindale will not be in the dugout for today’s game against Aberdeen after being taken into hospital last night following severe pains in his kidney, which has since been diagnosed as kidney stones.
“David is doing well but was kept in overnight for observation.
“With assistant manager Marvin Bartley suspended, first-team coach Neil Hastings will oversee things from pitch side in the manager’s absence.”
