Dundee have signed former England Under-20 left-back Imari Samuels on a two-and-a-half-year deal from Brighton for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old joined the Seagulls from Reading in 2022 and made one senior appearance for the Premier League side – in a League Cup tie last August.
Samuels had a brief spell on loan at Fleetwood last year and is eager to “kick on” with his career after committing his future to Dundee.
“It feels great to get this opportunity and I’m ready to kick on,” he told the Dark Blues website. “I spoke with the manager on Tuesday and it was a really positive talk. From there I knew it was the right choice for me to come here.
“I’m an energetic player who likes to get up and down the pitch and I will fight for every ball. I’m ready to go and I can’t wait to play in front of the Dundee fans.”
Dundee have been badly hit by injuries in defence recently so Samuels is likely to go straight into the squad for Tuesday’s match at home to Celtic.
