A pitch inspection will be held at Dens Park ahead of the Dundee vs Rangers game.
Officials will check the playing surface at 11am on Wednesday, around nine hours before the game is scheduled to kick-off.
Dundee have had four games postponed this season amid ongoing concerns about their pitch.
The fixture has been rearranged from last month when heavy rainfall in the area caused the pitch to be waterlogged.
Saturday’s game against Motherwell was given the go-ahead less than two hours before kick-off with the Fir Park club stating their concerns about player safety.
Another call-off could cause a fixture for the league with the Premiership set to split after the weekend’s game.
The game itself could also play a big part in the season with Rangers aiming to go back top of the table and the hosts looking to secure a top-six spot.
Dundee chiefs said on Tuesday that they have contingency plans in place if the game is called off while Philippe Clement hit out at the “crazy situation”.
The game is due to kick-off at 8pm on Wednesday.
