Ross County have announced the signing of midfielder Josh Nisbet, with manager Don Cowie delighted to have signed the A-League player of the year.
Nisbet has signed a three-year deal with County after leaving Central Coast Mariners, where he enjoyed a hugely successful season.
The 25-year-old was a leading figure as Mariners won the Premiership, Championship and AFC Cup. Nisbet scored four times and laid on 17 assists in 43 domestic games and won the Johnny Warren Medal for the league’s best player.
Last season also marked an international breakthrough as the former Under-23 player won his first two senior caps for Australia.
County manager Cowie hopes the versatile player can continue his success in Dingwall and was happy to land a player who had interest from other clubs.
“Joshua is a really exciting addition to the group,” Cowie said. “He had an exceptional season last season, winning both team and individual accolades which has resulted in him breaking into the Australian national team.
“There has been a lot of interest in Joshua from all over the world but we are absolutely delighted that he has chosen to join the Staggies for the next steps in his career.”
