Ross County have put former Scotland international Don Cowie in place as interim manager following Derek Adams’ sudden resignation.
Adams quit on Wednesday following a 5-0 defeat to Motherwell that left the club in the relegation play-off place, the same position they had been in when he took over 12 matches previously.
The club has now asked assistant manager Cowie, who began and ended his playing career in Dingwall, to step up and take charge of the first team on an interim basis.
His first game in charge will be for the trip to Ibrox when County face Rangers on February 14.
A brief statement from the club read: “Ross County FC can confirm Don Cowie has been appointed as interim manager.
“Don has a long affiliation with the club making over 190 appearances and has been assistant manager of the club under Malky Mackay and Derek Adams.”
